Workshop on Research Methodology: Tools and Practice (Data Analysis skills at Berhampur University

With funding support from OHEPEE, Government of Odisha, Berhampur University successfully organized two comprehensive week-long workshops from September 4th to September 9th, 2023. The workshops, “Research Methodology: Tools and Practice (Data Analysis: Basic Tools),” facilitated empowering researchers with essential data analysis skills and practices.
The inaugural ceremony was held on 04 Sep, 2023 at the New Conference Hall of Berhampur University, and it was graced by the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Geetanjali Dash. Dr. Atanu Kumar Pati, Executive Member of the Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC) graced the inaugural event as the chief guest. The event witnessed the gracious presence of other dignitaries including Prof. Sushant Kumar Baral, Chairman, P.G. Council; Prof. Sudhakar Patra, Director of IQAC; Prof. S. K. Tripathy, Director of the R & D Cell, and Dr. B. Anjan Kumar Prusty, Coordinator of the Workshop.
This weeklong two workshops (one each for the scholars of Science and Technology, and Social Science, Humanities and Management stream) were participated by 137 research scholars of Berhampur University. Each workshop witnessed 24 sessions (Theory, practice, hand-on session on various tools and techniques of data analysis). The event also included feedback sessions and an examination on last day of the workshop to evaluate the performance of the participants.
The valedictory session was held on 09 September, 2023, in the gracious presence of Prof. Amarendra Narayan Misra, Former and Founding Vice Chancellor of erstwhile Khallikote University, Berhampur. Other dignitaries who joined him on the dais were Prof. S. K. Tripathy, Director of the R & D Cell; Prof. Sudhakar Patra, Director of IQAC; and Dr. B. Anjan Kumar Prusty, Coordinator of the Workshop.
Dr. BV Rao, introduced the guests, followed up by the address by the dignitaries. Dr. Prusty, the coordinator of the workshop, while thanking the Vice Chancellor for providing the opportunity to conduct Research Methodology Workshops, provided a brief report on the sessions of the workshop, and also responded to the participant’s feedback. Prof. Sudhakar Patra, while appreciating the whole efforts, congratulated the team and assured them of all the required support for organizing such workshops. The Chief Guest, Prof. AN Misra encouraged the participants and urged them to participate in all such workshops and advised them to maintain highest standards of ethics and academics and research. He motivated the participants by citing many examples of innovations and the researchers associated thereof. Prof. Tripathy, felicitated the Chief Guest and addressed the research scholars, appreciated the team’s efforts for organizing two workshops successfully, and advised the newly admitted research scholars to be meticulous in research design and implementation.
Dr. AK Panda and Dr. BP Chhatoi, the Deputy Coordinators of the Workshop coordinated with the distribution of certificates to the participants. Dr. Kusha Kumar Naik, Assistant Professor and Organizing Committee Member, concluded the valedictory event by expressing gratitude to all stakeholders for their help and support in conducting these two workshops successfully.
